Job description

Job title:Cost Analyst

Location:Scotstoun. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements – please speak to your recruiter about the options for this particular role.

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 depending on skills and experience

What you’ll be doing:

  • Informing the creation of cost strategies and managing overall delivery of these to meet business requirements; delivering cost savings opportunities through life as a result of innovative thinking
  • Proposing and presenting cost reductions to senior leaders across the Procurement team
  • Ensuring a clear, rigorous understanding of cost numbers such as actuals, forecast, etc is captured and actively managed
  • Developing a forward-looking cost model, coordinating with the category teams & business partners to ensure cost-forecasting supports risk and opportunity management
  • Driving high quality opportunity generation through collaboration across the business
  • Undertaking cost evaluation, delivering yearly actionable plans, budgets and estimating new product costs, including market analysis in supporting of bid team activities
  • Ensuring a co-ordinated approach to cost management by working alongside other functions to understand customer needs, challenging requirements and identify and manage risk and opportunities

Your skills and experiences:

Essential:

  • Experience working as a pricing, estimating or Cost Analyst in a similar industry
  • High levels of data analytic capability with knowledge and competence in ‘should cost’ modelling
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, fostering close & trusting relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Support a cost conscious, action-oriented mindset which anticipates and avoids cost hazards as well as delivers cost benefit opportunities

Desirable:

  • Experience or qualified in Supply Chain or Cost Management
  • Experience in a related field e.g Economics, Engineering, Business Analytics
  • Awareness of Project Management Principles
  • Awareness of change management and continuous improvement tools and techniques
