I am currently working on a fantastic opportunity for a Costs Draftsperson / Budgeter / Negotiator to join the team at my client's firm. This role is open in, providing flexibility and a chance to contribute to the success of the dynamic legal environment.

In this role, the selected candidate will:
- Draft bills of costs using CostsMaster drafting software in both traditional and electronic formats (Precedent S).
- Prepare Costs Budgets in form Precedent H, aligning with departmental requirements.
- Provide dedicated costs support to colleagues within the department and the legal business.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues and the Department Manager in a team environment, ensuring drafting expectations are met.
- Maintain awareness of claim lifecycles, ensuring timely service delivery and meeting colleague/management expectations.
- Identify and adhere to department/group objectives, showcasing initiative in managing a caseload autonomously.
- Liaise with colleagues to uphold departmental working practices and procedures.
- Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm for the work, thinking independently and taking ownership of tasks.
- Degree level and/or Qualified Costs Lawyer or significant experience in Cost drafting for Large Loss complex files.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a Bill Drafting or Budgeting role.
- Proficiency in using CostsMaster drafting software for bills in both traditional and Precedent S formats.
- Experience in drafting Bills of Costs in high-value cases such as Clinical Negligence, Professional Negligence, or Complex Large Loss Serious Injuries.
- Excellent communication, organisation, and research skills.
- Good understanding of the CPR, relevant legislation, case law, and costs industry regulations.
- Experience with Proclaim case management system (desirable).
- Diligence and high attention to detail.
- Personality and tenacity.
