Job Description
Global E&C are currently seeking an experienced Cost Engineer to join our team in in Aberdeen on a staff basis.
As Cost Engineer you will be responsible for delivering all cost control and management activities within an assigned contract. This role will inform and advise the Project/Contract Manager and key contract stakeholders on the cost performance of the contract through actuals, budgets, forecasts, variances, analysis, control measures and reporting.
Your regular duties will include:
- Attending all cost meetings within the contract, ensuring meeting quality and effectiveness is maintained.
- Establishing baselines budgets, forecasts, and the regular monitoring of such.
- Verification of cost estimates prior to client issue.
- Identification and reporting of risk and the management of change, growth, and variation.
- Production of regular cost reports in line with business and client requirements.
- Analysis of Earned Value, Value of Work Done, Progress and other metrics as required.
- Preparation of timely and accurate invoicing when appropriate.
- Standing in, when necessary, for other Cost Engineers, at the direction of the Lead Cost Engineer.
To be considered for this role you should be able to demonstrate:
- Previous experience in relevant role.
- Strong working knowledge of project controls theory and practices.
- Degree qualification in Business, Finance or Cost Engineering desirable.
- Working knowledge of databases.
- Excellent Excel skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, diligence, and self-discipline.
- Delivery focused and committed to achievement of project/company goals.
