CoSTAR (Convergent Screen Technologies And performance in Realtime) is a new national infrastructure supported by UK Research and Innovation through the Arts and Humanities Research Council, designed to drive innovation in emerging technologies across screen and performance. CoSTAR’s Foresight Lab is led by Goldsmiths, University of London, in collaboration with the BFI, and Edinburgh and Loughborough Universities. It leverages a brilliant team and network, comprising world-leading players in the creative technology R&D space from both academic institutions and industry, across the UK. Summary: As Foresight Lab Programme Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth delivery of the Foresight Lab’s ambitious, distributed multi-partner research plan. You will work most closely with the Foresight Lab Director (Prof Jonny Freeman), and Lab Co-Directors (Rishi Coupland, BFI; Prof Melissa Terras, University of Edinburgh; and Prof Graham Hitchen, Loughborough University). The role will involve extensive engagement with Professional Services teams at Goldsmiths, and frequent interaction with external partners. Your role will span liaison across multiple project partners, delivery partners and contractors, project planning and monitoring, formal reporting to the funder, procurement and contract management, and communications management. As such this is a senior research management position with excellent growth opportunities. The post would suit an experienced project manager with experience in a hands-on role in a fast-moving, complex project operating at the cutting edge of advanced/ converged media production technologies and practice, or related areas. You will have a demonstrable record of managing contracts and monitoring work progress of our delivery partners and suppliers (including external digital, comms, travel, and accommodation providers) and maintaining an up-to-date strategic communications plan and matrix for projects, spanning online, social media, press, and conference attendance and presentations with dedicated budgets and the support of a professional communications team.
