Achieve Professionals are currently representing a Manchester based law firm in their requirement for an experienced Costs Litigation Executive/Case Handler/Negotiator.
Experience & Responsibilities:
- Dealing with a mixture of personal injury and clinical negligence costs matters, of both fast track and multi-track values.
- You'll need 1 - 5 years experience working either in-house or for a costs firm and have experience of:
- handling your own caseload from inception to conclusion
- negotiating settlement of costs in litigated and non-litigated claimant personal injury cases
- advising fee earners regarding costs disputes and assisting with their own negotiations
- preparation of summary assessment schedules, breakdown of costs and formal bills
- drafting replies to Points of Dispute
- Drafting Budgets
- Advocacy / Attending CCMCs
- Supporting junior team members
Skills & Attributes:
- Completion of a legal qualification (LLB, GDL or LPC) desired
- Drafting skills associated with completing Precedent H, R and Q and finalising formal bills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Flexible work approach
- Knowledge of time recording
- Working knowledge of CPR and Detailed Assessment process
- Experience of using a case management system, ideally Proclaim
