The Youth Support & Engagement worker will provide mentoring and practical support to recently arrived asylum seeking children in care and care leavers. The focus of this role will be to work with local partners to support young people to build a strong network of support and access positive activities, developed through 1-1 mentoring, outreach, accompanying and the delivery of group sessions at our weekly youth club.
The post holder will work alongside SLRA caseworkers to ensure that the young people who access this programme are supported holistically, so that their emotional, cultural and social needs are met alongside their more practical concerns.
The benefits:
£32,020 per annum pro rata + 5% pension contribution (increasing to £34,621 from April 2024)

We would love to hear from you if you have:
Substantial experience of working with refugee, asylum seeking, unaccompanied asylum seeking and/or other migrant children and young people in the UK.
Substantial experience of providing 1-1 support to vulnerable young people.
Experience of involvement in the planning and running of youth activities for and with young people.
Knowledge of the issues affecting refugee, asylum seeking and migrant young people in the UK.
