SALARY: £25,628 FTE / Actual Salary £17,822 per annum
LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire
JOB TYPE: Part-Time, Permanent
WORKING HOURS: 30 hours per week worked between the hours of8.30am - 3.00pm Monday to Friday, term time only, 39 weeks per year

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Lead Cover Supervisor / Classroom Assistant who has the ability to work as part of a team and learn new skills, with excellent verbal and written communication.
Working as the Lead Cover Supervisor / Classroom Assistant you will join the cover team which offers the perfect opportunity to become involved in the learning of young people.
This role can be a career in itself or serve as a springboard to a teaching career or other work with young people in the future. Although you will not be teaching, ensuring the students keep on task is most important, so good classroom management is essential.
The School support’s their Cover Supervisors’specialisms about which they are passionate, whilst also providing breadth of experience.
DUTIES
Your duties and key responsibilities as the Lead Cover Supervisor / Classroom Assistant will include:
- Supporting a mixture of classes during the absence of the regular class teacher
- Setting the work provided
- Monitoring/managing behaviour
- Keeping students on task as well as supporting teachers in the classroom
- Help deliver lively and engaging lessons from existing plans
- Support students by responding to questions
- In quieter times, you may also be expected to provide classroom and technician support, exam invigilation and general admin support including working with the Senior Administrative Officer in organising pre planned cover timetables
