Support Student Well-being as a Learning Mentor in Slough!

GSL Education Watford are seeking a friendly and patient Cover Supervisor / Learning Mentor to join one of our fantastic client schools located in Slough. The appointed candidate will be offer support and guidance to children and young people who are struggling with social, emotional or behavioural issues that affect their ability to learn. We do not require you to have any teaching specific qualification for this post. Carers who are willing to work with children are welcome to apply.

As a Cover Supervisor / Learning Mentor you will: 

• Collaborating closely with class teachers and senior staff to ensure a cohesive approach.
• Leading a team responsible for delivering engaging teaching and learning opportunities for students from Nursery to Year 6.
• Implementing sessions aligned with the national curriculum.
• Upholding high standards for teaching and learning.
• Possess prior experience as a Learning Mentor or in a similar educational role.
• Maintain rigorous standards for teaching and learning, focusing on skill development and student enjoyment.
• Exhibit an unwavering passion for the promotion of physical education and sports.
• Demonstrate organizational skills, adaptability, and a collaborative spirit.
• advise parents on behaviour strategies and parenting skills
• network with other Learning Mentors, teachers and relevant external agencies and professionals, such as educational psychologists, the police and social services

Candidate Qualifications and Attributes:

• Previous experience as a Learning Mentor or a similar role is advantageous.
• A compassionate and empathetic demeanour, with a passion for supporting student well-being.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, fostering positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• The ability to work collaboratively with the Pastoral Department and teaching staff.
• Dedication to the well-being and personal development of students.
• Right to work in the UK
