We are looking for a Creative Producer to lead the programme whilst our current Creative Producer is on maternity leave.
We expect you to play a pivotal role in contributing to the evolution of the Queer Publishing programme. You will co-design the development of the programme with our group of 'Cultural Pioneers' (i.e. community representatives).
So far we have completed three workshops:
- Queer Utopias Banner Making workshop with Sarah-Joy Ford
- Queerness and Nature Zine-making workshop with Julia Barker
- Reclaim: Da da poetry collaging workshop with Beeve
During these initial workshops, our community participants have discussed the need for more Queer spaces across Rochdale. Furthermore, the sessions in banner making, zine-making, poetry are helping imagine what that space might be like and what would go inside it. This has led to the idea that we are slowly 'filling a space from the inside out', a space that does not yet exist but that we could potentially create together. So whilst we do not currently occupy a physical space, what we produce during these workshop sessions - both the conversations we hold and artistic outputs we create - are essentially working to build this future queer space in Rochdale.
You will work with our 'Cultural Pioneers' to gain more of an understanding of the community and how the Culture Co-op can contribute. You work with the Cultural Pioneers to co-design new creative projects and initiatives.
You will be responsible for the running of the workshops and communicating with the rest of the Culture Co-op team to ensure smooth delivery and evaluation.
