The role:
We are looking for a Credit Control Manager to inspire the Accounts Receivable & Credit Control function, overseeing 4 direct reports. To seek and deliver the lowest possible level of customer debt including invoiced and unbilled amounts.
Key Accountabilities:
- Overseeing, supporting, and motivating the Credit Control function so staff are informed, can perform their work well and share the goals of the function.
- Collaborating with Finance Business Partners to support overall objectives for the Finance function.
- Producing monthly AR report and presenting with relevant commentary to the Board.
- Producing monthly cashflow forecast with weekly review to ensure its accuracy.
- Ensuring cash is allocated accurately in a timely manner so that accurate accounting can be made for outstanding unpaid amounts.
- Driving the resolution of issues that block the recovery of debt and ensuring a maintained focus on unresolved issues.
- Taking responsibility for the consistent production of monthly/weekly KPI reporting for Applications and Credit Control so that consistent and regular monitoring of volumes of work and areas for concern are highlighted.
- Developing and improving processes for applications and Credit Control so that the focus, effectiveness, and efficiency of the team can be improved.
- Representing the Company to customers in a firm and professional manner to bring accounts to their final status.
- Reviewing credit limits for customers so that customers stay within acceptable risk limits and provide guidance and risk insights for potential new customers/suppliers.
- Identifying the need for bad or doubtful debt provisions and raise to the Finance Director so that they can make appropriate provisions in the financial statements.
- Contributing to Great Place to Work action plans and driving change initiatives within the Finance function and wider business.

- Experience of cash collections and forecasting.
- IT Literate (MS Office including Intermediate Excel skills, Outlook).
- Experience of Sage 1000 & Construction industry experience desirable but not essential.
NB: We offer the option of a hybrid working pattern, 3 days in the office and two days at home if you so wish.
