We are seeking a skilled and experienced Credit Control Manager to join this fast-expanding group with a turnover of around £55 million. You will be responsible for managing the Credit Control function and will be implementing processes and procedures, ensuring timely payments from customers and maintaining accurate financial records. This is a crucial role in the organisation as it directly impacts cash flow and financial stability.
Key Duties:
- Monitor and manage customer accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices
- Contact key customers via phone, email, or mail to follow up on outstanding payments
- Resolve any billing discrepancies or disputes with customers
- Maintain accurate records of all interactions with customers regarding payment
- Collaborate with the stores and sales team to address any credit-related issues with new or existing customers
- Review credit applications and make recommendations on credit limits for new customers
- Work towards reducing debtor days
- Work closely with your finance team to reconcile accounts receivable and resolve any discrepancies
- Generate reports on accounts receivable aging and provide analysis on overdue accounts
The ideal candidate will have…
- At least 2 years’ experience as managing a Credit Control function/team
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Proficient in using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, or QuickBook
- Strong communication skills, both written and verba
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle difficult conversations with customers
