Senior Credit Controller, £30,000-£35,000+benefits, Leatherhead (Hybrid)
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Credit Control Senior to join our finance team. The Credit Control Senior will play a key role in supporting the Credit Control function, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts while maintaining strong relationships with our clients/customers.
Responsibilities for the Senior Credit Controller:
- Oversee the Credit Control process, including monitoring outstanding debts, chasing payments, and resolving any issues or disputes that may arise.
- Develop and implement Credit Control procedures and policies to minimize bad debts and improve cash flow.
- Review and assess credit applications, establish credit limits, and make recommendations for credit approvals or rejections.
- Conduct regular credit reviews and risk assessments of existing customers to identify potential credit risks and take appropriate actions.
- Prepare and analyze aged debtor reports, provide insights into debtor trends, and make recommendations for improvement.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders, including sales, customer service, and finance teams, to resolve queries and address customer concerns effectively.
- Mentor and support junior members of the Credit Control team, providing guidance and training as needed.
Skills needed for the Senior Credit Controller:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field preferred not mandatory.
- Proven experience in Credit Control or a similar role, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- In-depth knowledge of Credit Control principles, practices, and regulations.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess creditworthiness and identify potential risks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Leadership qualities with a proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
