Elevation Accountancy and Finance are delighted to be working with a successful business in the Sheffield area as they look to recruit a Credit Risk Analyst into their team on a full time, permanent basis.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Account opening and basic configuration incl. account and contact name and address changes (also account adjustments and closures)
- Credit risk assessment decisions using credit agency recommendations, insurer recommendations, internal models and, with experience, own analysis.
- Order release (incl. liaison with Cash Collections to obtain interim payments)
- Monitor and react appropriately to the daily credit agency monitoring alerts
- Proactive and professional liaison with prospects, customers and sales colleagues
- Maintenance of customer register data (Excel)
- Upload of customer data into credit agency systems
- Extraction of appropriate credit agency data in support of internal credit review and credit decision activity
- Referral of debts to third party partners following the failure of in-house collection efforts
- Proactive and professional liaison with credit and sales colleagues, third party partners and debtors
- Tracking and reporting of payments, costs and overall recovery rates to management
- Processing of properly approved bad debt write offs for debt deemed irrecoverable
- Reporting of bad debt write off values and provision
Person Specification:
- Good communicator being able to demonstrate clarity and confidence, both verbally and in writing
- Analytical, able to (with appropriate support and training) make objective judgements based upon financial and non-financial information and comfortable seeking out new and additional information in order to answer key questions
- Organised, ensuring that tasks are appropriately prioritised and completed with sufficient care and in a timely fashion
- Comfortable with routine and able to focus to ensure the daily Credit Risk routines and associated administration is managed pro-actively and consistently
- Accurate, consistently able to demonstrate an appropriate amount of care is taken to ensure that information is correct, valid and thorough
- Team player, always supportive of others prioritising team performance over personal performance
- Positive can-do attitude, self-motivated and hardworking problem solver
- Willing to learn, formally and informally and happy to challenge and be challenged
