My client based in the business district of the City Centre is looking to recruit a Credit Underwriter to work as part of the Credit Team. The role is offered on a permanent hybrid basis, Monday - Friday with the work from home days set at Monday and Friday and is offering a salary up to £26,000
Description:
Working as part of the Credit Team the core function of the role will be to evaluate credit applications.

Key responsibilities
* To assess the lending risk for finance products within a delegated lending mandate
* Make coherent recommendations on deals above lending authority level
* To make appropriate choices when placing deals with third party funders
* To always work within internal Credit policies and within industry guidance regulation best practices
* To negotiate alternative terms on proposed business
* To effectively communicate and rationale credit underwriting and placement decisions
* To exercise a risk based pragmatic and commercial view on proposed business
* To ensure decisions recorded accurately and relevant supporting documents retained electronically
* To refer suspicious proposals to colleagues in the Financial Crime Team for further investigation
* To contribute ideas for process improvements and progress of autoscoring
* To develop and maintain strong working relationships with key internal colleagues
* To always act with integrity and embrace and demonstrate the philosophy of treating our customers fairly
Core Skills
* Strong communicator with excellent negotiation skills
* Analytical, with a good eye for detail and the ability to assimilate information quickly and draw conclusions
* Ability to work to tight time targets whilst maintaining quality output
* Understanding of the relevant legal and regulatory environment( CCA, CCD,DPA, FCA & TCF)
Strong team player with a committed and flexible approach with an enthusiasm to take ownership
