Crisis Support Worker – Here For You Wakefield
SALARY:
NJC Scale Points 12 – 17, starting at £26,421 pa / pro rata
Plus £2 per hour enhancement for hours worked between 9pm – 2am
HOURS:
3x 37 hours per week
This role is fixed term up to 31 March 2025, with the possibility of extension.
We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated individual to join our evening Crisis Support Service known as “Here For You” in Wakefield. The service offers a non-clinical, safe space with the aim of diverting individuals aged 16+ experiencing acute distress to more appropriate forms of support, away from A&E.
The successful candidate will provide person-centred, trauma informed support both one-to-one and in a social setting. To ensure the safety of the person in crisis, the candidate may be required to liaise with local services. We wish to recruit someone with lived or substantial experience of supporting people in crisis, including working with people at risk of suicide and self-harm, particularly from diverse communities, such as BME and LGBTQ+ communities.
The post will involve regular face to face work (including bank holidays) in the evening and at night usually between the hours of 5pm-1am.
