Customer Services Assistant salary: £22,192 - £22,451 (pro rata)
All three positions are part-time, on average 3 days per week, on a fixed term contract until October 2024

We’re looking for two Customer Advisers and one Customer Service Assistant to join us on fixed term until the end of October 2024 at our visitor Information Centre in Coniston. You’ll share your love of the Lake District with thousands of visitors and use your local knowledge to make their visit even more memorable.
What’s it like to work here?
You’ll be based in the centre of the village at our Coniston Information Centre, a popular honeypot site in the southwest of the national park. It entails working as part of a small team to deliver a friendly and enthusiastic information service alongside a great local retail offer.
Your main duties and responsibilities
Customer Adviser:
- Help visitors get the most out of their visit to the Lake District National Park area by providing a high friendly and informative customer service
- Working in the visitor centre shop and ensuring our retail displays are kept orderly and eye catching for our customers
- Being a keyholder and handling cash for the Information Centre
- Direct involvement with the stock management of our retail offer
- Responsibility for the safety and wellbeing of our visitors and staff by following all Health & Safety and fire processes
- Work positively with volunteers and welcome them into the team
Customer Services Assistant:
- Help visitors get the most out of their visit to the Lake District National Park area by providing a high friendly and informative customer service
- Working in the visitor centre shop and ensuring our retail displays are kept orderly and eye catching for our customers
- Cash handling
- Work positively with volunteers and welcome them into the team
About you
Ideally you will have some experience of working in a fast-paced environment. Retail experience is preferred, as is a good knowledge of the southern and western Lakes. However, the most important thing is that you are passionate about the Lake District and about sharing this passion with our visitors.
