Homes for Students is the UK’s leading independent provider of student accommodation.
We are looking for a Customer Service Advisor/Housekeeper to join our team at our Alumno Falmer property based in Brighton working 35 hours per week Monday to Friday 10:00am to 5:30pm.
Purpose of the role
To be a part of the property team and drive performance of all KPI’s, whilst being flexible with your day to day responsibilities and duties. The postholder will support with all aspects of the building, from helping residents with queries and admin in reception, to ensuring the communal spaces are kept clean and tidy and completing small maintenance works.
Main duties :

- To ensure the highest level of Customer Service is maintained at all times and act as a role model for excellent Customer Service. n
- To sort the incoming and outgoing post and parcels and log all correspondence. n
- To deal with local community issues and escalate the accordingly to the Property Manager for interventions if required. n
- To deal with enquiries from customers and visitors to the property promptly and courteously, providing appropriate advice and information, through a variety of methods, including email, website, telephone and in person. n
- To carry out general administration and office support, including typing, photocopying, scanning, filing, and ordering of stationary off the approved list. Ensuring that databases and spreadsheets are maintained as required. n
- To provide a professional helpdesk and telephone service with calls answered promptly, knowledgably, and helpfully. n
- To ensure all communal spaces are kept clean and tidy. n
- To support all student check out and check in activities. n
- To respond to emergencies in a professional and diligent manner. n
- To comply with health and safety working practices at all times and provide information to visitors and subcontractors on HFS processes. n
- To prioritise and manage all work orders and the allocation of maintenance tasks to ensure these are closed off in a timely manner. n
- To respond to reactive maintenance and to keep students and customers aware and informed of the status of repairs. n
- To carry out small repair works such as resetting trip switches, signage replacement, lightbulbs/shade changes. n
- Undertake routine site health and safety testing including fire alarm and emergency light testing, shower chlorination and any visual checks. n
- To be vigilant regarding student welfare issues and to report any student problem or any unusual behaviours to your line manager immediately. n
- To carry out spot cleaning and emergency cleaning where required. n
