Customs Operator Nights

Position: Customs Operator - Nights

Location: Heathrow Area

Salary: 30,000 - 40,000 (DEO)

Work Hours: 4 on 4 off shift pattern (18:00 - 06:00 or similar)

We are currently recruiting for a renowned Freight Forwarding company that operates in over 200 Countries Worldwide. Our client is looking for an experienced multi-skilled Customs Operator for a new exciting role. Hybrid working considered after the probation period.

Key Responsibilities as a Customs Operator:

• Create job files, and accurately enter data into customs software to submit entries in a timely manner.
• Customer facing
• Sense check data provided by customers against required sources and advise on potential errors.
• Create Import and Export declarations by using customs software such as CDS.
• Track and monitor declaration status.
• Problem solving
• Liaise with all stakeholders. Dealing with any queries effectively and efficiently. Where necessary provide guidance and support on the latest customs procedures and requirements.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Customs Operator or equivalent.
• European Import & Export Road Freight clearances
• Previous experience working for a UK based Freight Forwarder or Customs Broker.
• Customs qualification and previous experience working with Destin8, CNS, Pentant, CCS is desirable.
• Knowledge of HMRC compliance and regulation is desirable.
• Must be able to self-manage and excel in methodical thinking
• Experience with perishable goods will be an advantage
