Cyber Security Engineer | London, West Sussex & Midlands | Hybrid | £45,000 - £85,000
My clients range from consultancies to private equity firms to members clubs of which all are looking for mid level and experienced Security Engineers. These positions are all hybrid and require travel into the office 1-2 days a week and some have an occasional client site visit.

Responsibilities of a Cyber Security Engineer:
- Able to define, design and develop security solutions and implement security controls
- Provide expertise across information security domains with a focus on network security
- Assist in troubleshooting design level and production issues
- Assess, monitor and recommend improvements to the global network security to help improve said security posture and mitigate risk
- Collaborate with key stakeholders within the business, and for the consulting positions work closely with clientele worldwide
- Carry out vulnerability scanning and/or management (desireable)
Requirements of a Cyber Security Engineer:

- Experience with firewalls (next gen), intrusion prevention and remote access
- Expertise with vulnerability management technologies such as patch management, OWASP mitigation and secure configuration assessments
- Complete competency with XDR and EDR technology
- Extensive Microsoft stack experience across active directory, azure directory, Intune, defender for endpoint and other technologies Solid on-prem and cloud track record (AWS/Azure)
- Understanding of operating systems, antivirus and the malware lifecycle to help identify performance issues and remediate them
- Any experience with technology such as Fortinet, Qualys, Imperva, Thales, Trend Micro, Cortex XDR, Palo Alto Networks, Proofpoint/Mimecast, Ruckus or Aruba, Nessus Pro, Okta and Norm shield is valuable
- Ideally have certifications such as but not limited to CISSP, CISM, CISA etc
