Job Role: Cyber Security Lead
Location: Luton/Remote
Hours:35 per week, Monday to Friday
As Cyber Security Lead, you will contribute to our vision of being the leading residential real estate services provider in UK & Ireland by supporting our security initiatives to protect our people, processes, and platforms.
About You
You are a keen security professional with a background in Cyber Security disciplines. You have experience in supporting, developing, and validating the technical security posture of an organisation’s platforms, infrastructure, and end user computing. You will be taking the lead in improving our preventative and detective Cyber Security capabilities.
You will report to the Head of IT Security and Governance as part of a dynamic and determined team.
Main Responsibilities
- Contribute to maintaining and promoting the use of our IT Governance and Information Security Management System frameworks.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert for the development, design, implementation, and monitoring of new technical security controls and initiatives for both cloud-based infrastructure and end user computing.
- Oversee the vulnerability and patch management process.
- Research latest security threats and intelligence to advise on remediation and detection best practice. Utilise research to publish internal threat intelligence reports.
- Interpret, monitor, assess, and help manage the information provided by our SIEM and other security monitoring tools to respond to incidents.
- Ensure full security operational coverage of IT assets in security monitoring tools.
- Supporting overarching IT risk management processes and business continuity planning activities.
- Support the IT Security and Governance department and wider business on new initiatives.
- Support information security incident management activities and proxy for the Head of IT Security and Governance.
Skills and Experience
- Good communication and prioritisation skills with a drive to understand business operations.
- Ideally five+ years’ experience within Information Security disciplines. A technical security, vulnerability management, or SOC analyst background is preferrable.
- Exposure to ISO 27001 processes and a high-level understanding of GDPR / DPA 2018.
- Understanding of business continuity, disaster recovery and incident management processes.
- Good understanding of IT security technologies, such as Firewalls, SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, IdM, Azure.
- Information Security qualifications, such as Comptia Security+, SSCP, CISSP, SOC certifications (e.g., Security Blue Team) or the desire to learn.
