About the role
The Cyber Security Specialist will be responsible for safeguarding the information systems by recognising potential threats and vulnerabilities and responding to security incidents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Interpreting security guidance from external sources such as NCSC and NIST.
Performing security risk assessments using recognised methodologies to identify and prioritise Cyber Security and cyber resilience risks and identifying appropriate controls and mitigations to manage those risks. - Own the day-to-day operations of the groups Cyber Security posture, security Business As Usual (BAU) and roadmap delivery across the company, reporting into the Information Security Director and advisory to the Group Information Director (CIO).
- Achieving and maintaining security accreditation or security assurance as required, including assessing the impact to security of all proposed changes.
- Run, drive and play a lead role in the rollout of the groups cyber and data security governance policies, standards and frameworks
- Audit policies and controls. Drive continuous improvement and remediation activities
- Work with all group technology departments to reduce IT security risk and where appropriate get involved in security relation project delivery.
- Lead and chair the groups Cyber Security working parities to ensure continual alignment of our Cyber Security roadmap.
- Support technology teams in the validation, risk assessment and remediation of identified security vulnerabilities.
Key Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, Cyber Security or a related field.
- CCSP or equivalent.
- Experience with Vulnerability Management, Cloud Protection Suites and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools.
- Knowledge of databases, networks (LAN, WAN), and patch management.
- Experience with identity and access management systems.
- Understanding of firewall and intrusion detection systems.
- Familiar with risk assessment tools, technologies, and methods.
- Active Directory/Group Policies/MS Azure.Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
