Cyber Security Specialist

Your new company
Hays are working with a professional services organisation in Bristol to support with the recruitment for a Cyber Security specialist. The role is paying up to £65,000pa depending on experience, offers hybrid working out of central Bristol and is permanent. You'll join a fantastic and friendly IT directorate, in an organisation that have a massive focus on employee wellbeing & flexibility.
Your new role
Within the role, you will report to the head of Cyber Security and provide technical guidance and governance for the effective use of security controls across the organisation. You will work closely with the wider IT operations team to ensure best practice and that critical business applications are protected from cyber threats. You will act as a point of contact for cyber-related audits and work closely with 3rd party suppliers. You will also help develop roadmaps for cybersecurity within the IT directorate and develop a competent understanding of the organisation's regulatory obligations for cybersecurity (ISO27001, GDPR, Cyber Essentials plus).
What you'll need to succeed
To be suitable for the role, you must have experience working in a similar Cyber Security role and ideally have a background in IT infrastructure. You must have good knowledge of ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials and other regulatory / compliance standards. You will need to have a good understanding of Cyber security standards and frameworks, Microsoft platforms, network and security systems. Ideally, you will also have experience with windows server, scripting, endpoint, cloud computing etc.
