Randstad are currently working in collaboration with a rapidly expanding trading business in Luton. This busy, successful and expanding international business are seeking an experienced, knowledgeable and motivated Data Analyst to interpret data and turn it into information which can offer ways to improve the business, thus affecting business decisions.. This role is integral to ensure that the company is operating at maximum efficiency.
Key responsibilities of the Data Analyst includes:
- Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
- Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality
- Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
- Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
- Filter and "clean" data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems
- Work with management to prioritize business and information needs
- Locate and define new process improvement opportunities
- Support the senior managers of the key departments with reports on sales, procurement, finance, operations; such has:
- Customer reports / customer performance analysis
- Producer reports / producer performance analysis
- Product analysis
- Operations costs
- Allocation optimization
- Etc….
- Support the senior manager with contract formulas calculations and deep analysis of results considering the variables require for the business; i.e. product price, loading location, freight rates etc…
- Upload of information to internal systems needed to the functionality of the business, ie freight rates, etc…
- Support the team with excel knowledge and working spreadsheets
- Monitoring and report on key feedstocks trends crucial for the business
Essential Core Skills
- A high level of mathematical ability
- High level of excel (formulas, pivot tables, graphs, etcs …)
- Power point and word knowledge
- A methodical and logical approach
- The ability to plan work and meet deadlines
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Interpersonal skills and teamworking skills
