What's involved with this role:
Interim Data Analyst - Public Health
Reference no: Oxfordshire 5245133
Pay Rate: up to £19.81 per hour PAYE depending on experience
Hours per week: 37 Monday - Friday, normal working hours
This opening assignment is for 1 month
City: OXFORD
Candidate will need to use their own IT equipment and software.
Support members of the Public Health team by analysing, sourcing and compiling accurate and up to date information to provide an evidence base for evaluation of services, commissioning, service provision and management information. Provide statistical information and analysis to members of the Public Health team
Responsible for ensuring that all relevant county policies and procedures are adhered to and concerns are raised in accordance with these policies.
Key Responsibilities
Source, compile and analyse data in order to produce and present evaluations and reports in compliance with council strategy and policy
Support and encourage the delivery of the best quality records. Audit data quality of information reports.
Provide locally defined reports for planning and performance management to support teams including locality profiles, analysis, and mapping in order to plan services and measure their success
Offer support and guidance to the Public Health team in an efficient and effective way on data related topics to ensure they can use and understand the information provided
Prepare Public Health data, keeping published information up to date
Liaise with key internal, external and voluntary sector stakeholders.
Receive and action queries received through shared team health intelligence request process
Work closely with other data teams within and outside the County Council in order to provide a holistic data picture in line with service delivery needs
Support the development of databases and related tools to improve the efficiency, accuracy and effectiveness of information
Ensure that all information complies with the data protection standards.

Qualifications:
Maths ‘A’ level or equivalent level 3 qualification  
Knowledge:
Good knowledge of databases and their specification
Experience:
Experience of using and producing statistical reports from client databases
Extensive use of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience of all aspects of information and data reporting, including inputting, retrieval and collation of data using different systems
Experience of problem solving using a numerical approach
Experience of producing reports involving the analysis of quantitative and qualitative data
Skills & Abilities:
High level written, numerical, analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent ICT skills including the use and manipulation of spreadsheets
Ability to analyse and interpret quantitative and qualitative data
Ability to explain the results of complex data analysis simply and clearly, both in person and in writing
Ability to negotiate and work with others as part of a busy team
