We are looking for a DataAnalytics Engineer to provide Data Analytics services by continuously developing the analytics focused areas of the data platform. Output in the form of managed data sets, delivered in a way that empowers Data Analysts and Data Scientists to answer critical business questions.

You will:

  • Responsible for building, maintaining, and improving the data infrastructure and pipelines that power data analysis and analytics applications.
  • Work closely with Data Architects, Data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their needs and to develop and implement solutions new data analysis and analytics applications that meet those needs.
  • apply software engineering best practices like version control and continuous integration to the analytics code base. Help delivering clean data to analysts through transforming, testing, deploying, and documenting data.
  • Design, build, document and transition to support data pipelines to extract, transform, and load data from a variety of sources into data marts, data warehouses and data lakes. Include data access controls and security measures.
  • Develop and implement data quality and data governance policies and procedures. Optimize data performance and scalability
  • Provide an expert consultancy service to the BU Digital community. Supporting them in the ability to be self serving in Analytics whilst having access to expertise.
  • Areas of responsibility include building new data pipelines to extract data from source transaction systems to load into the right design area of the data platform (Data Mart, Data Warehouse). Implementing a new data access control system to restrict access to sensitive data. Enabling Trial, POC, Pilots of Analytic Tools – including be key role in delivery of AI/ML capabilities. Optimizing the performance data pipelines.
  • Active participant in Data Analytics Communities of Practice & Global Data Analytics Working Groups.
  • Assist the Product Stream Lead Data and other stakeholders (Architects, Data Analysts) to maintain a vision, roadmap and build investment proposals for the extension of the Analytics Services within the Data Platform

We are looking for:

  • Technical knowledge in Azure Data Services: ADLS, Databricks, Stream Analytics, SQL DW, , Analysis Services, Azure Functions, Serverless Architecture.
  • Ability to work with large data sets to help business answer complex and ambiguous questions, using tools and languages like: SQL, KQL, Jupyter Notebook, Spark, R, U-SQL, Python, Splunk, and PowerBI.
  • Other Data Analytics and integration tools
  • Strong design knowledge of cloud Data Analytics and integration patterns.
  • Some experience and a keen learning desire for AI\ML enablement and adoption
  • Ability to work in an agile environment, to multi-task, and deliver to deadlines in an Agile Scrum environment
  • Hands-on experience with developer environment tools like Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD), Azure DevOps, GitHub.
