Job description

We are looking for a Data & Analytics Specialist to join our talented Online Marketing team!

This position is open to applicants based in the UK and can be worked remotely or across our Stockton, Newcastle and Manchester offices.

The Digital Analytics Specialist will be responsible for ensuring our agency clients are set up correctly for all aspects of Analytics, namely GA4, through an e-commerce lens. The Digital Analytics Specialist will have expertise in Google Analytics, Google Data Studio, and Google Tag Manager. Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills, and able to effectively communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

Job Purpose

  • Implement and manage Google Tag Manager to track website events and conversions, including goal and funnel tracking, enhanced event and e-commerce tracking.
  • Manage the migration of client Analytics tracking to Google Tag Manager
  • Be the agency lead on GA4 setup and integration for e-commerce clients.
  • Use Google Analytics to analyse website traffic and user behaviour to identify areas for improvement and develop data-driven insights and recommendations.
  • Work with the development team to ensure accurate tracking and measurement of website events and conversions.
  • Troubleshoot issues with clients’ analytics setups as and when they arise.

Requirements

The role requires an analytical mindset that can standardise processes, whilst also being reactive to new analytics problems that have not previously been thought of.

Essential

  • Strong proven experience in digital analytics, with a focus on Google Analytics/GA4, Google Data Studio, and Google Tag Manager.
  • Experience developing customised reports and dashboards using Google Data Studio.
  • Understanding of website tracking and measurement best practices, including goal and funnel tracking, event tracking, and ecommerce tracking.
  • Take ownership of complex queries or business critical decisions, clearly outlining suggested next steps and facilitating ongoing conversations with key stakeholders
  • Proven experience in developing and standardising processes for data and analytics workflows, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
  • Highly analytical with excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Meticulous attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and reliability in data analysis.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Natural problem solver and positive can-do attitude
  • ‘Self-motivated’ with an ability to demonstrate a can-do approach
  • Be able to work as part of a team as well as using your own initiative
  • Strong collaborative skills, working closely with cross-functional teams
  • Comfortable adapting to evolving industry trends, tools, and client needs

Desirable

  • Experience with SQL and other programming languages a plus.
  • Previous agency or ecommerce experience
