We are now seeking a talented and experienced Data Architect to join our tech team.  Ideally, you’ll will have a strong background in designing and implementing data solutions in an AWS DevOps microservices environment using Kafka and Snowflake.  As a Data Architect, you will play a crucial role in defining and implementing the Data Architecture, data modeling, and data integration solutions for us here at Zing.

What you will be doing:

•           Design and implement scalable and efficient Data Architecture solutions in an AWS environment, leveraging microservices architecture and DevOps principles.
•          Work closely with development teams to understand data requirements and design appropriate data models and schemas for various applications and services.
•           Implement and maintain data pipelines using Kafka for real-time data streaming and processing.
•          Design, implement, and optimize data warehouse solutions using Snowflake, ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability.
•          Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define data governance policies, data security measures, and data quality standards.  Provide guidance and best practices for data management, data integration, and data access across the organization.
•          Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to enhance the Data Architecture and infrastructure in alignment with business objectives.
•          Develop and maintain documentation related to Data Architecture, data flows, and data integration processes.

What you will need to be successful

•          Proven experience as a Data Architect or a similar role, with a strong focus on designing and implementing data solutions in an AWS environment.

•          An understanding / exposure to FX and/or Payments (FinTech) environments is required

•          Expertise in microservices architecture, DevOps practices, and cloud-based technologies, particularly within the AWS ecosystem.

•          Hands-on experience with Kafka for building and managing data pipelines for real-time data streaming and processing.

•          Proficiency in designing and implementing data warehouse solutions using Snowflake, including performance tuning and optimization.

•          Strong understanding of data modeling, data integration patterns, and ETL processes. Experience with data governance, data security, and data quality management.

•          Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

Desirable

•          AWS certification(s) such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Data Analytics Specialty, or AWS Certified Big Data Specialty.

•          Experience with other big data and streaming technologies such as Apache Spark, Apache Flink, or Apache Beam.
