The Role

Working for a leading not-for-profit organisation, the Data Consultant will join project teams set up to work with farming communities in some of the world's most challenging environments. Access to quality data and data analysis is a game-changer for these communities, so your role as a Data Consultant will be to provide the technical data expertise to understand and address issues with underlying data infrastructures, identify data interventions to help address blockers, and solve challenges with integrations between systems. The expertise that the Data Consultant brings will support the development and/or implementation of data sharing policies, data management plans, and data strategies.

The role is offered on an initial 6-month fixed term contract, which may be extended according to project needs. The successful Data Consultant can expect to travel to my client's offices in Oxfordshire on no more than a monthly basis.

What's Required?

• Demonstrable experience in data science, data analytics and data management, ideally with skills in Python and/or R
• Knowledge of relational databases and skills in administering, transforming, and manipulating large datasets
• A good understanding of good data management, access, and sharing practices
• The ability to work with technical and non-technical audiences alike, with the ability to explain complex information and data as simple comprehensible messages
• Any experience in data policy research, development, and implementation would be advantageous
