Our client has an opportunity for a Data Engineer to join their IT Team. This role is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and improving their data platform.
The role requires working collaboratively across Technology and Data teams and with Data platform stakeholders to ensure they are unlocking their data potential to enable insights that improve their tenant experience and achieve operational efficiencies.
Key responsibilities include:
Define and manage a roadmap for the Data platform
Implement data flows and pipelines to build out a comprehensive data platform
Migrate and decommission their on-premise Data Warehouse
Collaborate with Technology and Data team colleagues to proactively share Data engineering knowledge, best practices and remove single points of failure
Ensure effective technical controls are in place to safeguard our data
Keep up to date on new technologies and identify opportunities to apply them within Saffron to solve business problems
Build strong relationships with the Technology, Data and Change team and Data platform stakeholders
Ensure the availability, reliability, and integrity of the overall Data platform service

Their ideal candidate will meet the below criteria:
Essential
Experience of designing, implementing, and managing a data platform in Azure
Experience implementing solutions using Azure Data Factory, SSIS, Azure SQL Server, MSSQL
Experience of migrating on-premise Data Warehouses to Azure
Experience of designing and implementing Azure Network architecture
Experience implementing, monitoring, and improving data pipelines
Experience of implementing Backup and restore approaches to meet defined recovery point and recovery time objectives
Experience of implementing appropriate audit logging, error handling, monitoring and alerting of Data platform components to ensure resilience, availability and proactive problem solving
Experience developing architecture, technical and standard operating procedure documentation for data processing
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills - able to communicate and present in a clear, succinct, and compelling manner, including communicating complex technology issues to non-technical colleagues
Desirable
Relevant Microsoft certifications: e.g. Azure Data Engineer Associate, Azure Database Administrator Associate, or similar.
Experience of working with PowerBI, SSRS, Kingswaysoft, Azure Managed Instances
Experience of DevOps and MLOps
Experience working with Data from Microsoft Dynamics CE and F&O
