Job Title: Data Engineer

Salary: £38,000-£42,000
What you’ll be doing:
- Connecting to data sources
- Ingesting metadata and logs files from data sources
- Creating data structure views, lineage and data flow
- Bespoke ingestion such as dictionary templates & building APIs
- Adding context through curated pages of content with non-technical artefacts like glossaries, pages, articles
- Enterprise standards of output
- Interfacing with data SMEs
- Identifying & assigning owners, stewards and SMEs
- Creating article links
Your skills and experiences:
Essential:
- IT / Computer Science related degree or hands-on experience working in a Business Data / Data Warehousing / Data Governance / Data Cataloguing environment
- Experience of working with SQL, writing queries using multiple tables, and interpreting results
- Experience of communicating complex technical processes to stakeholders in an understandable way
Desirable:
- Knowledge of data modelling techniques and standards
- Knowledge and understanding of Data Cataloguing technologies – Alation, Collibra, Informatica, etc.
- Knowledge of documentation standards and release processes for software products
