Job description
As a Data Engineer in the Data & Analysis (D&A) Hub you will work as part of a varied technical team at the cutting edge of law enforcement on next-generation projects to help catch the criminals that pose the biggest threat to the UK.
The Data & Analysis Hub (D&A Hub) is the result of the NCA’s ambition to consolidate, professionalise and improve the flow of data and intelligence from acquisition and exploitation through to analysis, assessment and dissemination.
The D&A Hub and its Data Lab team are responsible for;
- Building data exploitation capabilities towards strategic and live operational problems.
- Harnessing engineering of innovative technology, advanced analytics and data science in order to generate actionable insights that deliver decision advantage to disrupt the threat from serious and organised crime
In this role you could find yourself supporting the Data Engineering team in developing data pipelines and custom components for data integration. This could include building ingestion pipelines (typically using Python and SQL) for structured, semi-structured or unstructured data and interacting with a range of data storage solutions including cloud based data warehouses, relational databases and document stores.
You’ll be working with varied and interesting data covering multiple threat areas originating from a wide range of sources, and the outputs you create will have a direct operational impact.
The D&A Hub cares and is passionate about your personal development and will provide you with the skills, knowledge and training you need to develop in role.
Locations Available - Bristol, London, and Warrington.
