FIND are working with a growing tech consultancy & education company, who’s mission is to get more people from underprivileged & under-represented backgrounds into high performing Software, Cloud & Data roles within FTSE 250 companies.
They’re looking to hire a Lead Data Engineering Trainer for their new Data Engineering pathway. This Trainer will be responsible for training & coaching cohorts of trainees through their Data Engineering course, before they are deployed as consultants.
This will be a hybrid Remote / London working role. You’ll likely to come into the London office 2 or 3 times a week max.
Responsibilities:
Training Delivery:
· Conduct engaging and effective group training sessions, to impart technical skills and industry knowledge to junior Data Engineers.
Individual Coaching:
· Provide one-on-one coaching and mentorship to junior Data Engineers, offering guidance on project work, problem-solving, and career development.
Curriculum Development:
· Design and develop comprehensive on-going training for junior Data Engineers, covering essential concepts, tools, and techniques in Data Engineering.
· Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements to ensure training materials are up-to-date and aligned with current best practices.
Practical Application:
· Develop and oversee hands-on exercises and real-world projects to reinforce theoretical knowledge, promoting the practical application of Data Engineering principles
· Collaborate with industry professionals to integrate real-world scenarios into training modules, enhancing the overall learning experience.
Performance Evaluation & Assessment
· Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the progress and performance of junior Data Engineers, delivering constructive feedback and creating customized development plans.
· Establish clear benchmarks for success, tracking and celebrating individual achievements within the training program.
Industry Networking:
· Actively participate in the Data Engineering community, attending industry events, and cultivating relationships with professionals to stay informed about industry trends and opportunities.
Continuous Learning:
· Maintain a commitment to personal and professional growth by staying updated on Data Engineering and related fields.
Requirements:
- 2+ years industry experience working as a Data Engineer
- Cloud experience (AWS , Azure or GCP)
- Strong Python or Java experience
- Strong Database & Warehouse experience
- ETL building / development experience (desirable)
- Machine Learning experience (desirable)
- Some form of previous training or coaching experience (i.e. Trainer / Instructor / Lecturer / Tutor / Teacher / Coach / Mentor)
