Data Governance Associate- 12 Month Maternity Cover
Salary: National – ranging from £49,700 - £70,000 and London from £53,300 - £80,000 per annum

The team/department
The Data Strategy and Services department, within the Intelligence & Digital Division, drives the FCA’s Data Strategy by enhancing the value of data through data management, governance and analysis activities and providing central co-ordination of all data-related activities. As part of the Data, Technology & Innovation we are leading the FCA in harnessing the power of data and advanced analytics to transform financial regulation.

What you will be doing
  • Oversee the day to day running of the Information Governance Board (IGB) Triage function, supporting the committee, and managing the relationship between Triage and IGB members and IGB Secretariat.
  • Ability to pick up when needed on the review of draft papers, providing constructive feedback in a timely manner; ensuring approvals are in line with the agreed tolerances.
  • Assess the best route of sourcing data and challenge new requests, assumptions and proposed solutions to ensure appropriate due diligence and proportionate firm burden
  • Responsible for the relationships with Data Front door, Data Governance and other areas which are heavily involved in the data collection process.
  • Overseeing, reviewing and updating the standard operating procedures for all IGB functions so a consistent approach is understood and adopted.
  • Engaging with Sector teams and other key areas to capture and maintain up and coming data acquisitions in the Pipeline.

The skills and experience you’ll have
Minimum
We are a signatory to the Government’s Disability Confident scheme. This means that we will offer an interview to disabled candidates entering under the scheme, should they meet the minimum criteria for a role.
  • A thorough understanding of the GDPR regulation
  • Strong evidence of maintaining responsibility over multiple tasks, prioritising workload and managing deadlines
  • Experience of working with executive committees, including reviewing committee papers and engaging with senior decision-makers and paper authors
Essential
  • Strong organisational skills to ensure work is completed on time and to a high standard
  • Ability to analyse incoming requests / queries, make sound judgment and prioritise appropriately
  • Meeting service level agreements on a day-to-day basis
  • The ability to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders whilst managing expectations
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to talk to colleagues at varying levels throughout the business
  • The ability to adapt to changing situations, balance, prioritise and manage competing demands
  • A "can-do" attitude and the ability to work under pressure and meet challenging deadlines
  • A proactive, constructive, individual who will generate solutions to process issues

Multilocation
As part of the FCA’s on-going commitment to develop our national presence, most of our vacancies are now open to working in our Edinburgh, Leeds, or London offices. This means that as part of the application process you will be able to select your preference of which office location you would like to work from. This role will require time working at the Leeds office alongside team members when it is more practical and effective to do so, for example planning sessions, workshops. This might average at 1 day per month.
