You need to have a degree in journalism/ data science or statistics, to have actually worked as a Data Journalist and to have used Python and R. The Data Journalist’s Role:

You:
- Are a Data Journalist with the proven ability to create graphics from data: you’re a designer and a journalist alike.
- Have a track record of generating original ideas from data driven stories.
- Understand basic HTML and CSS, web page design and programming languages used by Data Journalists (Python, R, etc).
