We are now looking for a Data Officer / Data Protection Specialist to join our growing and collaborative team, with the key focus of the role to be the primary focal point for clients, working closely within their business and alongside their teams or a member of our wider team. We are looking for someone to support and promote the ethos and values of the Company through contribution to our ISO Management Systems and other initiatives such as BCorp, EcoVadis, Armed Forces Covenant etc.
This is a full time permanent position, Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week, however, we would be happy to consider school working hours or term time only working hours for the right candidate. This role will be a mix of office working and home working, with the requirement to attend client sites across the UK.

Data Officer / Data Protection Specialist Main Duties:
- Helping to demystifying the myths and misunderstanding of data privacy law in the UK and the EU to our clients and their teams.
- Guiding our clients to ensure that they are compliant with current legislation and regulations. Understanding future changes to regulations and communicating to the wider team.
- Highlighting to the Senior Risk & Compliance Leader any out of line situations that you are unable to resolve.
- Conducting risk assessments such as DPIA s, TRA s etc and understanding international data transfer mechanisms such as SCC s, IDTA, DPF, BCR etc and when these need to be applied.
- Supporting Clients to manage data privacy incidents, to include providing additional support (if appropriate) to their internal teams (e.g. HR) on appropriate next steps.
- Conducting third party analysis of data privacy compliance.
- Working with other members of the team to coordinate and deliver IASME Governance and ISO 27701 Certifications.
- Supporting the team to ensure that we operate within a robust and compliant environment, and highlighting any areas for improvement etc.
- Collaborating with other team members on the development and delivery of education and training sessions, and give back opportunities as identified by the Managing Director and Pillar leaders.
- We are a small business, so any other duties as required by the Company to assist the team.
Data Officer / Data Protection Specialist Necessary Skills, Qualifications and Experience:
- Ability to establish relationship with clients to understand their pain points, providing solutions to problems, fostering long–term relationships with them and becoming their trusted partner.
- Superb interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
- First–rate organisation skills. The role will entail creatin appropriate documentation e.g. minuting meetings, creating policies, supporting the development of training courses.
- Excellent attention to detail, and the ability to plan and prioritise workloads.
- Great IT skills, including the Microsoft office package.
- Ability to work independently using own initiative, and collaboratively as part of a team with cross–functional teams and departments.
- A willingness to stay up–to–date with evolving Data Protection regulations and best practices.
- Full driving licence and access to own car, or ability to travel to and from the office and client sites.
- A basic knowledge of the technical infrastructure of organisations e.g. use of cloud services and other SaaS, is beneficial
