Our client is a growing Global Non-Profit Organisation, who are looking for a Data Protection Manager to join their team. They are offering hybrid working, a competitive salary and benefits.
Responsibilities
- Facilitating record of processing activities (RoPAs), Data Protection impact assessments (DPIAs), transfer impact assessments (TIAs), and ensuring appropriate security measures are in place.
- Handling subject access requests (SARs) and providing timely, efficient responses.
- Assisting the Data Governance team in putting data privacy strategies, policies, and processes into practise in order to guarantee adherence to relevant Data Protection laws and regulations.
- Providing stakeholders counsel, direction, and help on issues pertaining to data privacy. This includes managing, storing, keeping, classifying, processing, and distributing data while guaranteeing adherence to relevant laws.
- Monitoring privacy compliance efforts, and alerting stakeholders to privacy threats.
- Working with cross-functional groups of stakeholders but particularly the Digital team to advise on best practice “privacy by design” and “trust by design” strategies.
- Co-designing corporate procedures to guarantee data privacy protection as mandated by law.
- Providing expert guidance and training on Data Protection and privacy matters within the organisation.
- Assisting with data breach response action plans and data incident management.
- Leading data privacy training and awareness to employees on Data Protection.
- Leading the growing maturity of data privacy across multiple.
- Working with local leads: Regional Counsel in the UK, US, LATAM, and APAC, and the outsourced Data Protection Officer for the company’s European operations.
- Horizon scanning in relation to legislative developments in relevant jurisdictions.
Professional Knowledge and Experience:
- 5 + years’ experience within Data Protection/ privacy related roles preferably in a multi-jurisdictional organisation; experience as a Data Protection Officer is a plus
- Bachelors Degree in a related field
- Data protection/ privacy qualification (CIPP, CIPM)
- Demonstrable understanding of best practices in data management, GDPR, developing Data Protection legislation around the World, and information security standards (eg. ISO 27001)
- Experience with a data privacy software such as OneTrust.
- Experience in working with legal and data governance teams to develop and implement data privacy policies and to help develop a data privacy compliance culture
- Demonstrable understanding and experience of DPIAs, ROPAs and data breach response plans
- Strong interpersonal skills, able to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent ability to work and communicate effectively
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Organized and able to work flexibly and manage competing priorities effectively.
