A growing business consultancy in the Greater Southampton region is looking for a professional Data Protection professional (title still to be determined). This is a mid-level position for the company and will see you acting as the point of contact for all internal and client data related compliance focusing on policy and GDPR concerns at all levels. We are looking for individuals who have a great understanding of databases (SQL) and platform management as they work with various data platforms depending on the type of projects they are running with their clients. You will be working on both internal and external data compliance, GDPR, ISO27001 implementations and maintenance.
There is no formal job spec at this time as this is a new position due to their growth and it is a perfect opportunity for a young professional with roughly 2 - 4 years’ experience working in a similar role who is looking to gain greater business exposure in a medium tier business that has been growing steadily for the last 2 years. They are also undergoing a cloud and IT transformation so it would be an ideal time to join them if you are looking for a new challenge.
Professional qualities:
- Strong track record and experience working in information security/ Data Protection or related roles.
- Sufficient exposure/ experience implementing ISO 27001 frameworks
- Need to be able to work with autonomy and be accountable for your work/ time management and delivery.
- Professional and able to work with both internal stakeholders, senior practitioners as well as external clients/ managers.
- Self-motivated and driven.
- Kind and friendly
- Looking for some form of relevant IT/ Data qualification and/ or certifications
