Data Protection Officer

Reed Business Support are proud to be recruiting for a Data Protection Officer on behalf of a large public sector body based in Carmarthen. This will be the perfect opportunity to join a large and collaborative HR team. This is a flexible Hybrid role.What you’ll be doing:Develop Service procedures in relation to Data Protection and Information Governance and provide on-going advice in this area.Provide advice and assistance across the Service in relation to the preparation of Data Protection Privacy Impact Assessments and to ensure these are properly documented and regularly monitored.To investigate and action as appropriate any requests to rectify, block or erase personal data in accordance with the rights of the Data Subject.To manage, investigate and resolve all complaints from individuals in relation to their rights under Data Protection laws, ensuring that adequate reporting mechanisms are in place for recording such complaints.What you’ll need:Degree or equivalent qualification in higher Law or another relevant experience (e.g. Data Protection Law/ Information Law/ Information Governance / GDPR Practitioner)Expert knowledge and understanding of Data Protection legislation, specifically the General Protection Regulation and codes of conduct; Data Protection 2018 & other linked legislation.Experience of conducting investigation...
