As brand custodians, we are lucky to work for a dynamic, thriving, and ethical business, with people from diverse backgrounds, who bring their true selves to work, and where anyone can grow their career.

We are guided by three core values that are at the heart of everything we do: be yourself, act courageously, and show you care. They make us who we are and inspire us to push boundaries, embrace our individuality, and stand up for what's right.

THE GIG

The D&A Team has set the vision “To make every DM decision better with data” and is embarking on a transformational journey to “Execute faster in creating trust, access and value globally from all our data to empower our colleagues to stride forwards”. It is an exciting time to join the D&A team, with the opportunity to both set and guide the team and DM’s strategic direction.

As our Data Quality Engineer, you will be at the forefront of the team ensuring quality is maintained in our overall data, data pipelines and data warehouse. You will be central to the success of the global Data Transformation initiative. We are at the beginning of the journey, so you will get the opportunity to define our DATA QUALITY ENGINEERing approach, making fundamental changes through the design and implementation of a modern data ecosystem that underpins DM's bold growth ambitions. You will work closely with the broader business, supporting, challenging, and championing the quality of our data and analytics for better decision-making.

As our Data Quality Engineer you will be responsible for:

  • Independent Work: Ability to work autonomously, taking ownership of tasks and proactively addressing issues encountered.
  • Representation: Representing the team in DATA QUALITY-related project meetings, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
  • Data Warehouse Management: Establishing the data warehouse as a trusted and reliable source of business insight.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Designing and implementing comprehensive data validation strategies, including profiling, cleansing, and transformation, to address DATA QUALITY issues.
  • Collaboration and Improvement: Collaborating with data engineering teams, conducting audits, performing root cause analysis, and recommending innovative solutions to enhance DATA QUALITY practices.

THE STUFF THAT SETS YOU APART

Put simply, for this role the key things we’re looking for are:

  • Data Management Skills: Proficiency in SQL, data querying, and understanding of data structures, relational databases, and modelling concepts.
  • Data Quality Expertise: Strong grasp of DATA QUALITY concepts, methodologies, and best practices, with the ability to identify and resolve DATA QUALITY issues effectively.
  • Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with tools like Snowflake, Airflow, or DBT, and familiarity with data integration, ETL processes, and data governance frameworks.
  • Analytical and Communication Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and convey complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team Collaboration and Culture: Experience using collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence, supporting BI development teams, and fostering a culture of teamwork, idea-sharing, and collaboration while embodying the organization's values.

Are you ready to fill your boots? Apply now.
