Day Operations Improvement Manager
- Take responsibility for building capability in the department on Excellence improvement methodologies and tools.
- Develop a behavioural safety culture and promote a safe working environment by ensuring full compliance with all SH&E Policy and process.
- Recruit, lead, motivate and develop a flexible and agile multi-disciplined Improvement team
- Sets clear development strategy for team ensuring key targets and objectives will be achieved relating to quality service people and cost, driven through effective deployment of the performance management system and Excellence tools and Techniques
- Effectively communicates strategic plans, regular business performance updates and local KPI performance to the team and department manager
- Take lead role in delivering improvement around Good Manufacturing Practice, embedding working practices and excellence processes (tagging, CIL, 5S, etc..) that will deliver sustainable results creating pride with in the work place
- Take responsibility for department level KPIs improvements plan and TIP, levering the excellence methodologies for problem solving and improvements (RCA/BDA/SMED/12-step problem solving/Chrono, LBO, etc..)
- Identify and prepare capital projects for Exec approval which improve operational efficiencies and product profitability
- Help prepare and gain approval of the annual budgets for the Operations function and once agreed ensure that all the targets are met and/or exceeded
- Full ownership for creating detailed visibility of losses and opportunities on department priorities on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Demonstrable experience within a blue-chip food manufacturing / FMCG company is desirable.
- Implementing improvements that will drive us to a world class performance.
- Knowledge of key standards in Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental would be advantageous.
- Takes responsibility for personal development and obtains the technical knowledge required to make key decisions
- A Capable and experienced people leader, standard setting, influencing, motivating, coaching, and developing skills.
- Desire to drive brewery output and performance through effective standardisation of processes.
- Ability to turn vision into strategic plans for teams and individuals whilst generating excitement and enthusiasm to achieve the plans.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to network positively with staff from all levels and departments.
- Ambitious, driven, committed and takes responsibility for own development listening to feedback from others with an ability to manage change.
- Significant operational manufacturing experience & knowledge (products, processes, maintenance) within an FMCG context.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement techniques.
