Adult Social Care Inhouse

About the role:

We have a fixed term contract (12 months) full time Day Service Coordinator vacancy at the Beeches based in Stroud.

As a Day Service Coordinator, you’ll help people to lead fulfilling, dignified lives.

The Beeches is a Community Resource Centre for adults with learning disabilities within the Stroud District boundaries. People generally attend one to five days a week taking part in a range of social and creative activities. The Resource Centre at Cainscross is a purpose built building where there are facilities to meet the needs of adults with severe learning disabilities as well as people with learning disabilities who wish to access the local community with support.

Working with management, as well as on your own initiative, you’ll encourage people to take part in sessions and activities to enhance their independence. You’ll also develop care plans and risk assessments to help people with their personal care and day-to-day needs. By working closely with parents, carers and other professionals, you’ll help us achieve positive outcomes for the people we care for.

About you:

As well as an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification, you’ll also have hands-on experience working with people who have physical, mental health or behavioural needs. Committed to enhancing the lives of people with a range of abilities, you’ll be confident providing personal care and administering medication. What’s more, you’ll be proactive about your professional development and passionate about helping us take our service from strength to strength.

About us:

It’s a fantastic time to join Gloucestershire County Council, as we transform our Adult Social Care services. Through our team, we’re helping people with increasingly complex needs to remain independent and have a say in how they live. To succeed, we need people who’ll go the extra mile to see others well and happy and give families peace of mind. People who know that caring is the most rewarding feeling around.

Join us, and you’ll have a great opportunity to make a real impact on people’s lives. Meanwhile, you’ll have the training and support to develop your career. Add an array of brilliant benefits and you’ve got a rewarding role in every sense. We genuinely care about our colleagues and support their wellbeing.
