Demand Planner

Location: Bakkavor Bourne, PE10 0AT
Salary: £30,000 - £32,500 depending on experience
Hours: Monday – Friday, 08.30 - 17:00

A fantastic opportunity for a Demand Planner has arisen at our manufacturing site based in Bourne, Lincolnshire. Bakkavor Bourne specialises in making prepared fruit, dressed salads and stir fry mixes. It employs over 1,100 people and forms part of the Bakkavor Meals sector in the UK.

About the role:
  • Update daily the 5-to-28-day customer forecast, review and make recommendations based on various customers criteria. These changes are then to be shared with the wider business.
  • This role will be the critical site contact for commercial, finance and procurement teams and will bridge the gap between the live weekly forecast, 52 week raw material figures and the long-range business direction.
  • Customer communication will be critical in providing insight into short term events and drive actions to improve sales and service and adopt the business values when engaging with the customer.
  • As Demand Planner, you will also review and challenge internal service levels and customer reported service levels and with the support of dispatch/accounts challenge the current claims process to drive an improvement YOY.
  • Work alongside the Planning Manager, to drive all systems and processes related to the long-range production plans and labour requirements.

About you:
  • Proven experience in a similar role within an FMCG environment
  • Experience of working with large data sets.
  • Ability to influence key people within other departments. Operations, Finance and Commercial.
  • Highly competent with IT systems
  • An understanding of forecasting systems and methods is advantageous.
