Job description

The role of the Student Voice and Insight Manager will have oversight and line management responsibilities of those responsible for delivering the Union’s Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Scheme. Other duties include responsibility for organising all Union elections as required, acting as an Elections Official and, leading on the creation of annual action plans, driven by data from students, to improve the work of the Union. You will be involved in developing people and relationships. Ensuring strong and effective line management of the Student Voice Team, that is made up of paid staff and volunteers, and that the Union of Students maintains excellent and professional relationships with key university stakeholders. 

 

Purpose of Role:

To ensure that the Union effectively and accurately reflects the voice of all students at the University of Derby, by developing democratic structures, student voice feedback mechanisms and enabling and empowering student representatives to effect change. Additionally, this role will have oversight and line management responsibilities of those responsible for delivering the Union’s Peer Assisted Learning (PAL) Scheme.

This is an exciting time for the Union of Students with the launch of our a new strategic plan and as such a fantastic opportunity to be involved in the writing of a new vision for the organisation and a chance to shape the values of what we do. 

Hours of work: Full time, 37 hours per week  

Contract: Permanent, subject to a satisfactory 6-month probationary period. 

Starting Salary: The starting salary for the full-time role is circabetween £26,204 to £35,453 (dependent on experience) subject to TAX and NI contributions and if applicable pension contributions.

Place of Work: Kedleston Rd, with travel to other University sites across Derby, and occasional Chesterfield travel to Chesterfield,and Buxton.
