Royal Birmingham Conservatoire (RBC) is one of the leading performing arts higher education institutes in the UK. Part of Birmingham City University, the Conservatoire boasts a £57million world-class, purpose-built premises within the City Centre Campus of the University, along with a stunning Grade II listed building in Bournville. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- In your role as Department Administrator, you will be at the centre of the action, responsible for directly supporting the Heads of Department within the School.
- You will regularly collaborate with a wide range of colleagues across both RBC and the University, ensuring excellence not only for the student experience but also for professional activities and events both here in Birmingham and around the globe.
- Your work will enable our high-quality student tuition by organising events such as masterclasses by internationally renowned artists, arranging concerts and competitions, and ensuring a high standard of relationship management with all stakeholders from high profile actors and musicians, University colleagues, external providers, and our students themselves.
- You will be responsible for utilising the University’s finance system to make payments to a wide range of suppliers, and for assisting with management of the budgets available to each department.
Skills and Experience:
- You will enjoy working with an experienced team of fellow Department Administrators, supporting each other, and collaborating to ensure the excellent standard of service that is expected from the Department Administration team.
- Experience of working in higher education and providing high quality customer service in a complex environment with large volumes of work is essential, as is experience of using a finance system and working with budgets.
- A good knowledge of the performing arts industry is desirable.
