Deployment Engineers (Floorwalker)

Engineer/Floorwalker (Deployment) required to work with a government department. This is an initial 6-month contract, paying up to £500 a day, inside IR35, Hybrid working (National base onsite locations).

While some of this role can be carried out remotely, especially in the early stages, there will be a need for extensive, nationwide travel once we start the full national roll-out. Candidates must be able to be away from home during the week and potentially weekends, throughout the period of national deployment (currently this is a 12-month period)

This role is SC Cleared: Candidates who hold an active SC Clearance are encouraged to apply.

The client is looking to establish a new secure managed cloud based national online college for skills, learning and education. The enabling technologies are based on existing proven designs and capabilities, and include secure managed devices/peripherals, secure managed networks, Security monitoring and a full-service wrap and support model for the end-to-end solution.

Main Responsibilities:

The Engineer/Floorwalker works within the site team. Responsible for putting kit on desks, connecting to wifi, basic assurance testing during deployment (e.g. can the device connect to xx), some minor troubleshooting. Needs to have some technical knowledge but not a technical engineer. Will need to be able to work with various remote SME's to trouble shoot issues on-site. Once deployment complete will act as a floorwalker to help users with the new service so will need interpersonal skills. May need to stay on site longer than rest of team to help sites who are struggling a little so needs to be able to work without close supervision if required.

Essential / Desirable Skills:

• Experience of working within a highly secure and challenging environment - would be helpful.


• Experience of working within a Microsoft environment - desirable


• Experience of working a multi-site deployment - desirable
