Job Overview: As a Depot Manager, you will be responsible for managing and optimising the day-to-day operations of our depot. You will play a key role in ensuring the timely and safe distribution of food products, maintaining high-quality standards, and fostering a collaborative and efficient working environment within the depot.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership: Provide effective leadership to the depot team, ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations.
- Inventory Management: Oversee inventory control processes to minimize stock discrepancies and ensure accurate stock levels.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure the safe handling and distribution of food products, adhering to regulatory standards.
- Transport Coordination: Coordinate transportation schedules, routes, and deliveries to meet customer demands and deadlines.
- Team Development: Recruit, train, and develop depot staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, food safety standards, and other relevant industry regulations.
- Customer Relations: Build and maintain positive relationships with customers, addressing their needs and resolving any issues that may arise.
- Cost Management: Implement cost-effective strategies to optimize depot operations while maintaining high service levels.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess and improve the overall performance of the depot.
- Reporting: Prepare regular reports on depot performance, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a managerial role within a warehouse and transport environment within the food logistics industry.
- In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and distribution processes.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
