Spencer Clarke Group are working with a London local authority to secure a Deputy Finance Manager.
We are seeking an induvial who has local authority experience and ideally within Children & Young People.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inform a strategic vision that fosters innovation and continuous improvement.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the Council's financial strategy.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize financial resources and identify risks and opportunities.
- Ensure effective budgetary control and support budget managers in resolving financial pressures.
- Promote a culture of value for money and support commercial arrangements.
- Provide training on financial management and regulations to team members and budget holders.
- Prepare high-quality reports for senior stakeholders.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of statutory returns.
- Monitor financial reporting processes and address issues promptly.
- Support the development of council-wide financial strategies.
- Assist in medium-term financial planning.
- Develop financial models to assess resource requirements and funding gaps.
- Act as a financial advisor and service delivery partner.
- Contribute to customer-focused finance services.
- Foster partnerships and community empowerment initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with regulations and policies.
- Support financial controls and internal audits.
Essential Criteria:
- Qualifications: CCAB qualification or actively studying towards one.
- Demonstrated experience in stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and financial management.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and IT skills.
