Functional area: Finance / Controlling 

The Deputy Finance Manager is a key member of the finance function for the relevant wind farm(s), leading on certain topics and providing support to the Finance Manager and other operational leads.  The role is responsible for core financial management activities including business partnering with Operations, Controlling and other functions to protect and delivering value for RWE as a service provider and owner.  Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Deputy Finance Manager is a key local Finance contact.

 

Main Responsibilities

  • Lead the production of RWE management information for local Operations stakeholders and financial figures in connection with the relevant wind farm(s) (including budgeting, business plans, benchmarking, commercial analysis and monthly reporting)
  • Responsible for the production of internal / joint venture routine / structured project finance reporting, regarding the financial performance of the windfarm and where relevant, costs incurred by the windfarm from the RWE service provider
  • Deliver high quality financial closure each month and quarter through close liaison with Operations, Controlling and Accounting stakeholders to ensure costs incurred and value of work done are understood
  • Act as a key local stakeholder to manage the quality and valuation of variation / additional service proposals by RWE, or internal investment proposals
  • Support financial decision making in respect of RWE’s service contracts to joint venture projects, as applicable
  • Ensure that all revenue streams available to RWE as service provider to joint venture Wind Farm(s), as applicable, are understood and managed, plus that costs are allocated between the RWE service provider and the windfarm in accordance with the long term service contract
  • Supporting the management of liquidity of the windfarm, with the guidance of the Finance Manager
  • Undertake ad-hoc analysis as required for structured project finance, where relevant
  • Ensure that RWE Finance processes, guidelines and best practices are met/used, to integrate RWE’s service provision to joint venture(s) as applicable into RWE standard processes
  • Support the resolution of insurance and commercial claims through provision of robust, high quality financial information
  • Form highly influential relationships with operational stakeholders
  • Work effectively with a broad range of internal stakeholders within RWE Renewables and the wider RWE AG organisation

 

Skills and Experience

  • Either:
    • Masters or relevant Degree in Finance or Economics.  A technical degree with a strong financial component is sufficient, or
    • Professional finance qualification with a minimum of a few years experience
  • A proven background in finance, preferably within the energy industry
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Entrepreneurial thinking and mind set
  • Open and team-oriented
  • English (fluent)
