SalaryEden Brown Synergy are working with a Local Authority on the South Coast who have a newly formed vacancy for a Deputy Head of Commercial Services.
They are looking for someone who can set and manage procurement strategies and policies, is able to manage time lines for procurement's and oversee a small team of procurement officers to ensure they are able to manage the tender process. The authority is currently undergoing a transformation for the service so someone with previous experience of this who can offer advice on barriers and issues and work with internal stakeholders to ensure the transformation offers improvement across the council. You will also deputise for the Head of Commercial Services when required. Although you will not manage procurement's directly, you will take lead on major, high value procurement's when required.
They are looking for someone who has a sound understanding of legislation, has previous management experience and can work across several categories. You will need to have excellent communication skills and have a strong understanding of change management.
This is a small authority which likes to offer development and growth from within. The procurement team work together to offer support and advise when needed.
The role offers flexible working along with remote working, but you may need to travel to the office when required.
