SalaryBishops Gate is located in the coastal town of St Leonards-on-Sea near Hastings, in East Sussex. It offers residential support for eight males and females who have Prader-Willi syndrome (PWS). We are off a quiet road, just fifteen minutes’ walk to the town centre and the sea front.
Our team are dedicated to promoting independence, maximising the quality of life for our residents, encouraging participation in the community, and enabling individuals to make choices about their life.
To be Deputy Manager, you will be flexible and have experience in leading a team as well as being able to demonstrate experiences and knowledge of supporting people in a proactive, person centred way. You will need to have the experience and confidence to deal with the challenging behaviours that autism can present.
What our Deputy Manager will do:
- Support residents to live as independently as possible (including personal care)
- Act as a senior member of staff on shift and be confident in supporting our residents and staff team
- Build and maintain lasting relationships with residents and their families
- Take residents out and about – walking, local cafes, local lunch clubs and coffee mornings, singing groups, outdoor parks and gardens
- Drivers able to go further afield for longer day trips and events
- Provide in house activities – singing, sensory sessions and baking
- Manage physical challenging behaviours
- Contribute to the on-call rota and a varied shift pattern
- Work with a great team and have fun!
